  1. q&a sites are a good research sites but not good foe school work i think they are simple all you have to do is time a question but i wouldn't use it for a school project

  2. I think that it would be a good idea to have kids read this. Unlike "doglover" I would use it for a school project, but everybody is entitled to their own opinion. I also think that it would be a good idea to have younger kids to draw pictures to help with what they want to say and how they want to say it. Using key words instead of a question makes it easier to research a project or idea.

  3. The part I found most helpful was where it compared it to describing a picture. I don't think that is something that has to be limited to helping younger kids though. I think it's a concept that could help a lot of people. I know that it would probably help me.

  5. Thats good to know i always type in questions into google when i want to know something but now i know thats not how I should do it. Question and Answer sites are usually always bias. They are peoples opinions or answers, not facts, so in that case Question and Answer sites are not good sites for research.

    1. I think that it would help me a lot because then i wouldn't have to write down the whole question, and use less words. Also i could find out the answer faster while i am trying to do something else. It would be extremely helpful when i am trying to do something else.

  7. I used to have trouble with that kind of thing, but the teachers mentioned the same thing they are talking about in the article. And i agree about the thing where they compare things to a picture.

  8. It sounds like in order to make a productive Google search then we must know what to type in the search bar. The page shows, in the example, that we need to have the nouns in our search like Washington or Bob. In some cases an adjective or verb can help. It sounds like it could really help to write down on a piece of paper what we want to search and then modify it into a search.

  9. This article is very accurate. There is so much information on the internet. You search a topic in Google and you get enough information to fill a set of encyclopedias as big as the empire state building is tall. The trick is to pick out the one piece you need. You get that by selecting the correct words.

  10. Question and answer pages are really helpful, because they answer real people's questions, rather than just going over the things that creators think you need to know, because they just skip over the things they don't know people are confused about.

  11. This is very helpful, considering that when i have trouble with homework at home, i am immediately checking Google for answers.... but with little help for it's searching for every word i type in my Q.
I also agree that it makes it ten times easier (for kids or adults) to draw out their question then search their picture (because it omits the words that are unnecessary for your search)

  12. This method does seem to help children to think about what is said, reveals their artistic values also, and also helps different kids with very different skills to do things that would help them all individually. The whole thing pretty much sums up to be able to help a lot of different people.

  13. I find this really weird but interesting. I have always just typed in the whole question instead of just having to leave out words & my searches seem to turn out successful. But I will keep this in mind.

  14. I think this idea of using key search terms is great. Not only does it improve search skills, but it can improve vocabulary and abstract thinking skills. I know I always have a hard time of finding what I'm looking for on the internet.
